Database Analyst

Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and maintain database systems to support BYRD's advertising platform, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and scalability. Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues proactively, identifying and resolving bottlenecks, errors, and inefficiencies to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operation. Implement and maintain database security measures to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Perform regular backups and recovery procedures to safeguard data integrity and minimize the risk of data loss in the event of system failures or disasters. Develop and implement data management policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and availability of data across the organization. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, network administrators, and business analysts, to support database-related projects and initiatives. Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and stakeholders, assisting with database-related inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing database usage. Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies and best practices in database administration, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance BYRD's database infrastructure. Document database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps, maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation to support knowledge sharing and compliance requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).

  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role, with expertise in managing relational database systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).

  • Strong understanding of database concepts, principles, and best practices, with the ability to design, implement, and optimize database structures and schemas.

  • Proficiency in database management tools and technologies, including database management systems (DBMS), query languages (e.g., SQL), and data modeling tools.

  • Experience with database security, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and troubleshooting techniques.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex database issues efficiently.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Certification in database administration (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Database Administrator) is a plus.
